The Newburgh Fast Pitch Hall of Fame was established in 1991 to help preserve the history of the storied fast pitch softball leagues. At one time, Delano Hitch Recreation Park was filled with excited fans, of not only baseball but, of fast pitch softball. Fast Pitch Softball has long been gone in the Newburgh Area, the Hall of Fame is trying to preserve the past and connect with the future of the sport. Fast Pitch today is mostly played by girls from the age of 5 all the way thru college to now having a professional league. The Hall of Fame officers are helping ensure that The Newburgh Fast Pitch Hall of Fame continues to be a beacon for the city and for the athletes of Newburgh Free Academy.  A New member induction dinner is held every year, helping to fund a scholarship program for a NFA fast pitch graduating senior on her way to playing in college. Every year the hall donates a check to the Lady Godbacks player of the year and is given out at the Block N Dinner. The Newburgh Fast Pitch Hall of Fame is Located at The Recreation Park in back of the Community Center. Stop in and check out the history of fast pitch softball in Newburgh.
